As part of our commitment to educating the next generation about renewable energy, VREC was proud to be part of an installation at an elementary school in Vancouver.  Admiral Seymour Elementary School installed a 2.4 kW grid-tie system on the roof of its east building.  It was the first photovoltaic installation on a school in the city of Vancouver.

VREC installed the panels in 2010.  Last year we added web-based monitoring of the system so school staff, students and the general public could view the energy produced online.  There is now a few months of data available to be viewed on the web-based portal.

The system includes Day4 Energy panels.  These panels were designed and manufactured by the Burnaby-based company.   We have been installing panels from this local company for over 4 years making us the longest operating installer of Day4 panels based Vancouver.
