Darren is a PV designer, installer, and electrician with extensive international experience. He has led solar projects in Nigeria, Philippines, Haiti, Benin, Kenya, Tanzania, Australia, and Canada. In addition to his work with VREC he is currently working as the Africa Projects Manager for the Solar Electric Light Fund. He was the co-founder and technical director of Sungrid Ltd, a manufacturer and distributor of photovoltaic equipment based in Australia. Darren is active in the grassroots sustainability movement and has served on the board of directors for several community organizations including the Fremantle Environmental Resource Network, and the Vancouver Biodiesel Cooperative.
Darren has a MSc in Renewable Energy from Murdoch University. He is a journeyman electrician and FSR.
